Cuisine Description - Panamanian tortillas are very popular for breakfast and they are rounds of corn dough deep fried and most of the times served with melting cheese and eggs. Hojaldras are “Panamanian donuts” and they are always served hot and with Sugar or vanilla sprinkled on top, together with a cup o coffee. As main courses, the Panamanians have sancocho, Panama's traditional countryside soup with Chicken; corvina, a fish dish served with different sauces; an abundance of shrimp, lobster, and fish; tamales, which are made from a dough or a corn, filled with Pork or Chicken and spices, and wrapped up in a banana leaf and boiled. Among other tasty dishes, in Panama people prepare Panama empanadas, cariminolas, pastelitos, shrimp ceviche, corne en palito, angels on horseback, spareribs with secret Chinese sauce, ried yucca a la Tivoli, and many other delicacies that will surely determine you to try more Panamanian dishes.
