Country - Suriname

Cuisine Description - Suriname is a South American country which has Guyana, Brazil and French Guyana as its neighbors. It is the only Dutch speaking country in South America, and it considers itself a member of the Caribbean. Suriname has been a member of the Caribbean community (Caricom) since 1994. Suriname is a mix of different cultures including, Dutch, French, English, Spanish, Javanese, Chinese, Creole, Indian and many others. Chicago Eats World is a challenge to try and experience the food from every country of the world. I hope that by undertaking the mission people will feel not only full but more tolerant of how and why people prepare and eat the food they consume. The postings will give a brief overview of the cuisine, a video experience of a restaurant or meal cooked by a native of the specific country and take away recipes so you can recreate the meals at your own home.
